The story of TAL Apparel is in many ways the story of one man, CC Lee who was affectionately known as "The Textile Man". As an industrialist who moved to Hong Kong from Shanghai in 1946, CC Lee founded a local cotton spinning company that grew into a global garment giant. Here are some of the landmark events in the company's evolution:
2010 - Present
Total annual garment capacity of TAL Apparel reached 53 million pieces.
TAL Vietnam was awarded the "LEED® for New Construction GOLD Certificate".

TAL Apparel invested in a company named "Ramtex" in the U.S.

The Lee Family started TAL Apparel Ltd with 30 million pieces quota allocation.
CC Lee retired.
1970 - 1979
Further expansion in Thailand. Total facilities across the company increased to 350,000 spindles, 7,400 looms and 7,700 sewing machines.
TAL delisted from HK Stock Exchange and made first major land sale.

1960 - 1969
Toray and TAL invested in Penang and expanded in Thailand.

Jardine Dyeing and Finishing Co Ltd were incorporated into Textile Alliance Ltd. The company had two dyeing works, 50,000 spindles, 1,000 looms and 2,000 sewing machines.
Opened another garment company, Great Eastern Textiles Ltd with 20,000 spindles.
CC Lee made first investments overseas in Thailand and Taiwan.
1950 - 1959
Beautex Industrial Co Led, a joint venture with Toyobo, was established.

Opened Star Textile Ltd in Hong Kong, a garment business with 6,280 spindles.
